Queen of Hearts

From the Giving and Imagination Series

I stumbled on the idea for this week’s challenge while making Valentine’s Day stickers for my friends and coworkers. (What can I say? I work for a summer camp company. Also, I will take any chance I get to break out colored sharpies.) My goal was to make 20 heart stickers. As I drew, I found that trying to come up with so many different depictions of one basic thing was a pretty fun challenge, and I couldn’t help but marvel at the awesome power I was exercising – the ability to see infinite possibilities in one simple shape and imagine such vastly different solutions.

Sure a stack of heart doodles aren’t going to change the world, but they can be a great reminder of our power as creative beings to envision endless possibilities. And if we can remember to put that power to use in our daily lives that can be world-changing. Plus, aside from honing your visionary superpowers, this challenge enables you to love bomb at least 10 people. So, win-win!
